Hi my name is Donna Wilson Irwin.  I'm from Ottawa, Ontario and now live and create in Newburyport, MA with my husband. I've been working in the Arts my entire life.....and I feel "blessed in the mess" (a quote from Junelle Jacobson) to be able to create Art.
 

I still host a ton of events for the community (check out the Belleville Roots Music Series) and help others in the process but my fav thing to do is to get some time to play.....and see what comes out! I love to support people in their process as I continue along my own journey.

I love to start on a piece and see what transpires.....to me, it's like designing a face with color and you keep changing and adding things until it looks right.  I like to use different products. That's why I enjoy taking classes and learning new things. To top it off, I've had a chance to work with some amazing teachers -- many online, but a few in person as well. What I've learned is to just keep doing it!

So, enjoy the art. On the Inspirations page, I acknowledge all teachers I've learned from so you can see all the different techniques. Starting out, I didn't have the confidence to do my own pieces.  I didn't even know what gesso or matte medium was.....I really started from scratch.
