Thankful

There is soooooo much to be thankful for: friends, making good memories & yummy food. We were invited to friends for Thanksgiving Turkey. It was the first time I experienced a turkey being sizzled into a deep vat of oil. It only took 30 minutes using a deep fryer! It was amazing. The food was just perfect! My husband took the picture of this turkey head -- boy, did we laugh! Hope you had a wonderful day of thanks as well!

I was so amazed when I finally used my pan pastels. Honestly, I felt a bit overwhelmed by them.... Thanks to Jane Davenport's book "Beautiful Faces," I was able to draw my own Nordic Girl and apply her techniques. Page 79 I love how soft and kind pan pastels are. A great look!!! Joan of Arc - The Maid of Orleans

"One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live with out belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying." - Joan of Arc "Go forward bravely, fear nothing, trust in God, all will be well." - Joan of Arc "Thank you to all the brave women who paved the way for us." - Donna Wilson Irwin I really enjoyed making this painting. For a long time, I wanted to make hair out of the alcoholic inks. I also enjoy the fact that she isn't totally pretty, but strong. I love the vibrancy and strength of this piece....and what Joan of Arc stood for and her beliefs.....later, she was burned at the stake she was only 19 years old. Joan of Arc – The M

NRBQ in the house

One of my passions is to host music in my community. I am a co-producer of the Belleville Roots Music Series in Newburyport, MA. It's always a blast to bring in some amazing acts and this past weekend did not disappoint. We had NRBQ (new rhythm and blues quartet) and, let me tell you, I wish I had one iota of their energy. They had the audience on their feet and blew everyone away with their talent!

Jumping right in...

WELCOME! I put this blog together with a dear friend to share my artwork and all that I am learning as I pursue my passion. My goal is to help inspire others to do what makes them happy and to sow creative seeds far and wide. I haven't gotten this far on my own - I've had incredible teachers, such as Jane Davenport and many others. I have traveled to Mexico City, North Carolina & Italy to study with Jane, whom I admire as a seasoned artist. (I admit it: I am an avid "Davenpeep"!) In the next few weeks, I will post a video of my mermaid book, which was made in North Carolina at Donna Downey's studio, and my Italy work is soon to follow. Please visit me virtually and feel free to add your 2 ce
